This Summer Barrow Signs were contracted by a London based interior fit-out Company to supply and install the signage and window manifestations for American law firm Fragomen Worldwide at their new offices at Sir John Rogerson's Quay in Dublin.
The scope of this project included random bar par patterns to extensive internal screens, meeting rooms and offices. However as opposed to using the traditional sandblast effect the specification was for matt black. For the reception area a solid walnut panel was ordered, onto which we fabricated brushed stainless steel lettering, and to complete the job a clear acrylic (Perspex) sign panel with reversed graphics to the rear side finished with stainless steel studs was fitted at the entrance to the office on the shared landing.
The image above is the 10mm clear acrylic panel with matt black text. This strongly contrasts with the white wall behind and is easily identifiable from a distance. This is mounted to the wall with stainless steel standoff studs.
Like many modern office fit outs glass was extensively used. In order to provide a degree of privacy and also to prevent people accidentally walking into the glass Barrow Signs installed a manifestation to the windows. In this case there were two meeting rooms "DUBLIN" and "CORK" where the names were incorporated into the black random bar manifestation.

The image below shows the same black pattern but this time broken and installed at the requisite heights to comply with Part M. Barrow Signs have prepared this download to help customers understand Part M when considering Window Manifestations [Part M Download]
At Barrow Signs we love working with high quality materials, and when we saw the specification for this project we knew that we would be an ideal fit. We sourced a 19mm thick walnut panel measuring approx 1.8m x .55m, that we oiled several times to achieve the perfect lustre. This is fitted to the wall by specially machined french cleats, one part connected to the walnut panel and the second part to the wall, when fitted it gives the illusion that the sign is floating. This type of sign also looks very effective with lighting to the back, though in this case it was not specified.
To the walnut panel we fabricated brushed stainless steel letters. The complexity with these letters is that the stroke of some of the letters was approx 4mm wide (the "I" in Worldwide), we were able to produce these without any warping or scorching what so ever. "Fragomen" is raised off the panel by 13mm by using clear acrylic spacers.
Dorian Marks, Project Manager for Barrow Signs said "this was a wonderful project to be involved in, the finishes and the materials throughout were of the highest specification and the interior design was very contemporary."
"Barrow Signs delivered this project in a competitive tendering process. The fit out contractors were very clear in their requirements in terms of budget, finishes and timescales and I am pleased to say we exceeded expectations in all of these areas." he added.
